A follow-up to this POST about one of my favorite blogs.
The author and artist, Sophie Blackall describes the project as such:
"Messages in bottles, smoke signals, letters written in the sand; the modern equivalents are the funny, sad, beautiful, hopeful, hopeless, poetic posts on Missed Connections websites. Every day hundreds of strangers reach out to other strangers on the strength of a glance, a smile or a blue hat. Their messages have the lifespan of a butterfly. I'm trying to pin a few of them down."

Dear Sesame Street,
Thank you for all the fun times over the years. You helped to make my childhood a time of wonder, learning and fun.

the troop beverly hills experience
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film Troop Beverly Hills, comes The Troop Beverly Hills Experience!!
I loved this movie as a kid, I think my sister and I watched it at least 1000 times.
And its even endorsed by Heeb Magazine. Can't get much better than that.
You can learn all about it HERE - according to the blog, they are headed to New York City next. AWESOME!!

missed connections
I was recently directed to this blog called Missed Connections and had to check it out when I read the description. The author and artist, Sophie Blackall describes the project as such:

asked myself why the letter 'n' all night long, then you were gone before i got a chance to ask. also, i saved you a piece of cake.
do you always sit in a circle of asian girls? and sit at the top of the stairs so everyone gets a crush on you when they get to the roof?

bork, bork, bork!!
It seems like I am on a total Muppets kick. It seems like they keep popping up everywhere.
Was conducting a search on YouTube and stumbled upon clips from The Muppet Show. I spent many a wonderful evening waiting for that Dance Fever disco dance show to be over so I could spend a blissful 1/2 hour with Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzy, Gonzo and of course, the Swedish Chef!
So I spent a blissful hour or two watching old clips of that Scandinavian menace to talking food attempt to create culinary masterpieces and it still makes me laugh as much as it did when I was 4 years old, although I probably have a greater appreciation for the genius of Jim Henson and his crew of puppet masters.
The only drawback - the song has been in my head all week.
Hopefully this will purge my recent Muppets fixation.

Muppets Take Fashion
How awesome is THIS?!?!?!?
Two things I love working together - the Muppets and Marc Jacobs. Miss Piggy is a fashion icon going back to when I was in pre-school!! She always rocks whatever she was wearing.
The Muppets have been on my mind all week. I was on YouTube the other day trying to find something and stumbled upon old clips of the show, things I have not seen in years. I spent way too long watching the Swedish Chef and his theme song is now stuck in my head permanently.

101 Muppets of Sesame Street
Some of my first memories as a child are of Grover, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch. Even before I could tell time I knew exactly when Sesame Street would be on and I never missed an episode.
