flash for fun from diesel

It has been a REALLY long time since I wore Diesel jeans but I may just have to go back and buy myself a pair from their latest collection called Flash For Fun. Four words - - GLOW IN THE DARK!!

These are definitely calling out to me. I have a thing for dragons lately.

The collection, developed by Diesel's creative team headed by Creative Director Wilbert Das, was created for those who play hard day and night, 24 hours non-stop, without taking the time to change in between. A special fluorescent coating, devised to be glaring under UV lights, is layered on denim and cotton. Through this treatment, Flash For Fun pieces are discreet during the day and reveal extremely bright details and stitches at night, presumably at clubs. On denim, hidden graphics are revealed under black lights. Graphics are visible when exposed to darkness thanks to UV lights. Stitches and back patches appear on denim when it’s dark (so go party in them!) together with the distinctive Diesel pocket stripe, presented in a dedicated acid color version.  (from Nitrolicious)

snoopy couture

From WWD:

In honor of Snoopy's upcoming 60th birthday, some of fashion's nobility gave this beloved beagle and his female companion a couture makeover.  The  collection was displayed during Japan's Fashion Week last month at their official venue Tokyo Midtown.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film Troop Beverly Hills, comes The Troop Beverly Hills Experience!!

I loved this movie as a kid, I think my sister and I watched it at least 1000 times.

And its even endorsed by Heeb Magazine.  Can't get much better than that.

You can learn all about it HERE - according to the blog, they are headed to New York City next.  AWESOME!!

disco dancing darcy...and the conga

Pride and Prejudice is one of my absolute favorite stories.  Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy are one of the greatest couples of classic literature and Jane Austen, ahead of her time.

This clip from series 3 of the British sketch show, That Mitchell and Webb Look takes a classic discourse between Eliza, Caroline Bingley and Darcy and completely turns it on its head - not to mention a Disco dance that looks like...well, you'll see.

I suggest that if you are at work, close the door to your office, you may scare your co-workers by falling off your chair laughing.

I am going to have to check out more of this show.  I really wish SNL were more like this show and others from Europe and Canada.  They are so much more creative in their ideas.  I really miss The Kids in the Hall.
Enjoy!!

bork, bork, bork!!

It seems like I am on a total Muppets kick. It seems like they keep popping up everywhere.

Was conducting a search on YouTube and stumbled upon clips from The Muppet Show. I spent many a wonderful evening waiting for that Dance Fever disco dance show to be over so I could spend a blissful 1/2 hour with Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzy, Gonzo and of course, the Swedish Chef!

So I spent a blissful hour or two watching old clips of that Scandinavian menace to talking food attempt to create culinary masterpieces and it still makes me laugh as much as it did when I was 4 years old, although I probably have a greater appreciation for the genius of Jim Henson and his crew of puppet masters.

The only drawback - the song has been in my head all week.

Hopefully this will purge my  recent Muppets fixation.

101 Muppets of Sesame Street

Some of my first memories as a child are of Grover, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch. Even before I could tell time I knew exactly when Sesame Street would be on and I never missed an episode.

For anyone who grew up with and loved Sesame Street check out this link:
